Through my work there I gained exposure to marketing in an international environment. One of UBM Aviation's best-known brands is OAG, a data and technology company whose customers include the best known names in the travel and aviation industry. At UBM Aviation/OAG I developed marketing communications plans and programs. Major initiatives were a re-branding initiative and a voice of the customer research project to better position the company. One outcome of brand process was the development of brand guidelines, streamlining and unifying the organization's image and resulting in substantial time and cost savings. ClearGauge was an interactive agency that specialized in B2B marketing. ClearGauge offered SEO/SEM as well as other forms of online marketing along with website and online marketing strategy services. While the agency was small, its client roster was impressive and included Fortune 500 companies such as Dow, DuPont, Caterpillar, GE and Hearst. At ClearGauge I managed client accounts, working with my customers to understand their markets, define their KPIs and develop marketing campaigns. My roster included a significant number of healthcare and health technology clients as well as a diverse array of accounts including huge industrial chemical companies, a trade show exhibit manufacturer, a commercial printer, software companies and more. At ClearGauge we placed a high degree of emphasis on measurement and optimization. While there, I gained exposure to web analytics, working with such platforms as WebTrends, Omniture/SiteCatalyst and Google Analytics. I would analyze campaign data, present the results to clients and work to understand their business challenges, often leading to opportunities to grow the relationship. We partnered closely with clients to understand their needs and could offer a comprehensive range solutions. I managed the client relationship, developed strategies and proposals, keeping the projects on track and in scope. While at TuckerKnapp, I was offered the opportunity to manage the content development for a large food industry website as well as manage the development of a portal for health industry professionals. Eventually, my role focused exclusively on the interactive side of the business, and I was part of the agency's new business team. While there I developed and rolled out new services to clients that included website strategy, SEO and affiliate marketing programs. My experience at TKI launched me down the path toward interactive marketing.

Advocate is a leading health delivery network consisting of hospitals, outpatient facilities, physician groups, home care and more. It was while working at Advocate that I developed my passion for healthcare marketing. Originally hired as a graphic designer, I progressed through a series of positions at Advocate. Ultimately, I was assigned to manage marketing for Advocate's largest hospital, Christ Hospital and Medical Center. In this role, I led a team that included hospital and corporate administrators to rationalize the hospital service lines and position the hospital in its market. In addition to my work with Christ Hospital, I was the marketing lead for Advocate's cardiovascular service line, an initiative that brought together all of its hospitals and other entities that provided cardiac care. I worked with service line managers to develop and implement their marketing plans. At Advocate, we placed a high importance on great writing and design and I worked with some wonderful talent at agencies, design firms, photographers writers and others. We produced television, radio, print and outdoor advertising, patient education materials, direct mail and more. My work at Advocate was foundational to my professional development and I am very proud of my team's achievements there.
